Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Mayor of Banjarmasin Ibnu Sina said the true Adipura is in the behavior of all residents, not only in the form of an award.


The number one in the ranks of the municipal government said that when a thanksgiving for the winning of clean city award Adipura Kirana 2016 at the Martapura River embankment in front of the City Hall on Saturday.

"Therefore, let us all behave clean and healthy and love environment," urged Ibnu Sina accompanied by his deputy Hermansyah. The two have been six months governing the capital of South Kalimantan.

According to the cadre of the Prosperous Justice Party, Adipura was the form of recognition of the central government to the people of this "thousand river city".

"Without the hard work we all, particularly those who were in the forefront in maintaining cleanliness, impossible for Banjarmasin to regain the clean city award as last year (2015)," he continued.

He also hopes Banjarmasin could retain the award in 2017 and win Adiwiyata, a form of recognition for clean and green schools.

"Are schools ready to get Adiwiyata," asked Ibn Sina and immediately answered ready by hundreds of students and principals who attended the celebration of the Adipura Kirana.

As the award was the result of hard work of the people of Banjarmasin, the mayor symbolically handed over the trophy to the local legislative council (DPRD) speaker Iwan Rusmali, then the DPRD speaker handed it over again to the city janitor.

The welcoming ceremony for Adipura Kirana took place in the drizzle. then the award paraded along Martapura River.

Then the Adipura trophy paraded around the city with entourage of motorcade lovers community, environmentist, sanitation cars, and fire extinguishers.
