Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan (AntaanewsKalsel) - Governor of South Kalimantan Sahbirin Noor invites private sector to help accelerate the development and planting of trees in the Banua Botanical Gardens in Jalan Aneka Tambang, Banjarbaru.


South Kalimantan Governor together with provincial government officials on Monday planting trees in the Banua Botanical Gardens to accelerate the development of the facility.

"I hope private companies can channel some environmental development fund for planting this botanical garden, so it can immediately be felt by the community," he said again.

In the activities initiated by the South Kalimantan Environmental Agency (BLHD) about 100 trees planted in the 100 hectares botanical garden.

The planting will continue through the botanical gardens, which now seemed barren, until it is filled with a wide variety of typical tree. Nowadays the botanical garden contains plants of various types, ranging from medicinal plants, greening trees and fruits.

Head UPTD (technical implementation unit) Banua Botanical Garden Agung Sriyono said, the facility has entered its four years. A number of facilities such as nurseries, parking lots, and walkways along the 2 kilometer have been built.

This Botanical Garden, said Agung, has received attention by the central government as evidence began to flow funding in 2015 ago.

Agung also expressed his hope for the construction of reservoir for the purposes of the availability of water.
