Banjarmasin, (AntaranewsKalsel) - Sungai Andai in North Banjarmasin to be made as a green area or a shady area with lots of trees.
Banjarmasin Mayor Ibnu Sina marking the launching of the program by planting trees at the Jalan Padat Karya, Sungai Andai, on Friday.
The mayor stated Sungai Andai should be a full green with trees planted up to alleys in residential complexes.
"We ask the greening program for this neighborhood can get to alleys in the residential complex," he said.
According to him, Sungai Andai that is the suburban areas should it greening be preserved, because this region has begun to be densely populated and rapidly grows seen with the continued development of housing complexes.
"Do not let the shade area is missing. We keep along with a lot of planting trees in an empty location and suburban streets in order to provide shade," he said.
Siti Hapsyah, head of North Banjarmasin Sub-district, expressed that the mayor's concern on the streets greening program in the area encourages village and community spirit to realize the Sungai Andai as an example the "green village" in Banjarmasin.
