Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Accidents on the waters of the Barito River between MDM Banjar barge and kelotok causing fatality.
"There are three people onboard the kelotok, one drowned and two others survived," said Chief of Batola Water Police unit AKP Charles Tampubolon in Batola Friday.
Kelotok is a traditional river boat, usually fitted with inboard or outboard motors.
He said the collision between a barge with klotok occurred on Thursday (22/10) around 04.00, precisely on waters of Ulu Benteng Village, Sub-district of Marabahan, Batola.
The dead victim from the accident was found by citizens on Friday (23/10) morning around 10.15.
"The victim was drowned and found about 200 meters from the scene of collision," he said when confirmed by a number of reporters.
Charles said a brief chronology when the victim along with two compinions pursued TB MDM Banjar by kelotok.
But when chasing, suddenly the kelotok engine off as it approaching TB MDM Banjar. When the victims tried to start the engine, the kelotok they were riding was hit by TG MDM drawn by TB MDM Banjar.
Two co-victim managed to escape and one victim drowning and recently discovered on Friday (23/10) at 10:15 with a distance of 200 meters from the scene in a state of dead.
