Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalimantan) - The strengthening of US dollar against rupiah is not a big influence on the increase in value of exports of South Kalimantan province.

Based on data from Bank Indonesia submitted by Assistant Director of Bank Indonesia M Shiroth at the South Kalimantan Public Relation Coordination Meeting in Banjarmasin on Friday, the low level of market demand amid growing global economic uncertainty weighed on prices of various commodities in this area.

Thus, based on data from BPS, the strengthening of the US dollar against the rupiah does not have a major impact on the increase in value of exports of South Kalimantan.

Based on BI data, decline in demand for various commodities also lead to regional economic growth in the second quarter slowed down only 3.2 percent compared to the first quarter of 2015 by 3.9 percent, or below the national reach 4.7 percent.

However, the provincial inflationary pressures at the second quarter of 2015 amounted to 6.07 below the national average of 7.26 is relatively lower than the quarter 1-2015.

The drop in inflation was mainly due to sustained food supply and smooth distribution of food from outside the island, along with the entry of the dry season and the relative calm sea waves.

The things to look out for future inflationary pressure is the increase in the price of food after eid were not corrected and the strengthening of the US dollar against the rupiah.

While anchoring of inflation, among others, is still safe supply of rice, as a result of El Nino actually a positive impact on rice farming in South Kalimantan.
