Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - Governor of South Kalimantan H Rudy Ariffin inaugurated Pasar Wadai Ramadan (Ramadan Cake Fair) 1436 Hijri on Jalan Sudirman at the banks of Martapura River Banjarmasin, Thursday.


The governor said, the Pasar Wadai Ramadan has a special meaning for him, for two period he lead the province. "10 years I became governor, Alhamdulillah can be up to 11 times to attend and inaugurate pasar wadai," he said.

He expects the market to continue to be preserved, because it has become a culture of the people of this region and be the culinary attractions of Ramadan.

Pasar Wadai Ramadan on Jalan Sudirman has been around for decades and become the largest in the province, so it's quite an attraction for visitors and even foreign tourists.

"You could say the market here as icon, although all districts and cities also held the same wadai market," he said.

Meanwhile, Deputy Mayor of Banjarmasin Irwan Ansari stated, there are 155 booth vendors selling a variety of iftar menu, including typical food and drinks of Banjar.

"It could have been a variety of foods that you like here, including variegated wadai (cake) from bingka, Amparan tatak, and kelelepon," he said.
