Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Torrential rains since Friday morning hit evenly almost all regions in South Kalimantan, which has 13 districts and munacipalities.


"The rain is even and there are some areas hit by heavy rains," said Head of the Meteorological and Geophysics Staklim (BMKG) Banjarbaru, Purwanto, on Friday.

He said even though the rain heavy but the intensity relatively normal with 21.3 millimeters recorded range of monitoring equipment in BMG at 07.00 am.

He explained that rainfall in the range of 21.3 millimeters is relatively normal as the rainy season has begun since the end of November 2014.

According to him, the high rainfall in South Kalimantan vary according to the topography of the area, so there is a heavy rain areas but there are also medium and light rain.

The rainy season which flushed the entire region of South Kalimantan is predicted to be lasted until March 2015 and peaked in January and February 2015.
