Tanjung, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - PT Adaro Indonesia through its Corporate Social Responsibility handed eight public minivan to the Government of Tabalong, in order to support the free public transportation for students and teachers.


The company PR, Hikmatul Amin, here on Monday, said eight Suzuki APV cars for public transport are contribution of PT Adaro and its sub-contractors, namely PT Sapta Indera Sejati (SIS), Pamapersada Nusantara, PT Buma and PT Rahman Abdijaya.

"The eight units of public transport is a concern from companies to support local government programs to provide free transport services, especially for teachers and students," said Hikmatul.

This free city transit will serve the public transport route 1 include (Terminal Mabuun crossing DPRD stop - Tanjung Market), route 2 (Terminal Mabuun - Monument Torch - Tanjung Market) and route 3 (Tanta - Market Kapar).

Regent Tabalong, Anang Syakhfiani will even remain exempt public transport for students and teachers during his tenure along with vice-regent, Zony Alfianoor.

"Free shuttles will be valid during my tenure and vice regent ends other than that in February 2015 we will add five more units onwards," he said.

He also hoped that employers who want to support this program for free public transport to invest in transportation.

As for operational readiness for eight units of public transportation, the Tabalong Transportation Agency already recruited 30 contract staff as well as providing training and testing.

One resident, Ifan said, the presence of free public transport can reduce the burden of public life as rising gasoline prices to reach Rp9,500 to Rp10,000 per liter.
