Kotabaru, South Kalimantan (Antaranews) - The Kotabaru Disaster Management Agency of BPBD now alerting hundreds of officials and a number of fire trucks to anticipate fires.


"Forest and landfires lately has troubled many people," said Head of the local BPBD, Tri Basuki Rahmat, in Kotabaru on Saturday.

The impact caused by land and forest fires since the dry season, among others, the occurrence of smog, which interfered flight activity, harass smooth transportation, land and sea.

While many farmers and residents experienced losses from land burned, because they have many of the dead plants in their garden.

To anticipate the fire to spread, also reduce losses of farmers, BPBDs carry routine patrols involving at least 50 officers from the Volunteer Firefighters (Balakar), plus 80 fire volunteers.

Patrol also comes with seven fire trucks, 15 units of portable extinguishers, water cannon, and other equipment.
