Suci Rabella, a state civil apparatus of the South Kalimantan Provincial Government is now in the final competition of the 2020 Indonesian Teacher Prize.
The winner of the education category of the 2019 South Kalimantan Amazing Women held by Antara News Agency has captivated the jury in the professional category by presenting public speaking teaching material.
Suci entered the top four by eliminating thousands of participants from various regions in Indonesia. She became the only representative from Kalimantan.
Ruang Guru, as one of the largest platforms for the digital-based education service provider with tens of millions of subscribers, is holding the 2020 Indonesian Teacher Prize.
This is a search event for the best teachers from all over Indonesia for various categories, from science to humanities lessons, from elementary (SD), junior high (SMP), and high school, to motivation and inspiration as well as professional category.
Thousands of participants were fighting to win the prestigious 2020 Teacher Prize. After passing through stages of selection, up to semifinal, finally there were four participants in each category to compete in the final round.
Suci had presented the material very well armed with her experience as MC, moderator, and speaker at various events. She also had taken a short course on public speaking at IOWA University, USA.
"Passion in public speaking and the desire to share knowledge encouraged me to take part in the Indonesia Teacher Prize," she said.
She acknowedged that one of her missions was to make South Kalimantan proud. "I want South Kalimantan to be aligned with other provinces that we consider to be advanced, such as in Java. This can be done by proving that South Kalimantan's human resources are no less good than those in Java," she said optimistically.
The support for Suci to succeed at the national level indeed came from the Banua (South Kalimantan) figures. Among them are a member of House of Representative from South Kalimantan H.M. Rifqinizamy Karsayuda, Deputy Speaker of Banjarmasin DPRD Hj. Ananda, and Head of South Kalimantan Trade Office H. Birhasani.
This can be seen from the video Suci had shared on her social media accounts.
