Pelaihari, South Kalimantan (Antaranews) - As a result of the surrounding land acquisition, Swarangan Seaport development in Jorong, Tanah Laut District, was delayed.

"We've tried to persuade the owners of the land to land compensation according to the sale value of the tax object (NJOP), but they still insist on their determined price," said HM Rahmadi, Head of the Sea Transportation of the  Tanah Laut Transportation and Informatics Agency in Pelaihari on Wednesday (6/8).

In 2014, the agency re-allocates the cost of land acquisition around Swarangan marine port Rp17 billion. If land acquisition goes well, then the next step is the construction of additional jetty from the beach to the sea, terminals and two alternative roads leading to the state road.

"The length of the jetty from the beach to the sea 500 meters. Currently jetties have been built from the beach toward the sea 150 meters, so the rest is yet to be built about 350 meters," he explained.

Seaport Swarangan development started since 2009, but until now not yet certain when it will be completed. Though construction is targeted to complete in 2015.
