The Regent of Tanah Laut H Sukamta saw off the departure of the inaugural ship to mark the start of Swarangan Port operation in Jorong Sub-district, Sunday.
Sukamta expressed his gratitude as the port, which was built since 2008, was eventually operational.
In the course of it development, the Swarangan Port had stalled, even stopped for a long time, he said. Thanks to the hard work of all parties, the construction of the port was finally completed at the end of 2019.
"The maintenance period was six months and it was ended in June 2020," he said.
According to Sukamta, with the presence of the port, the area will advance, because of the flow of goods and services.
He hopes the port will immediately give benefit to the people of Tanah Laut as well as opens investment opportunities. This is because ports are the infrastructure that investors really need.
