Almost all the Central Hulu Sungai's taekwondo athletes won gold medals in the 1st Indonesia Taekwondo E-Poomsae  Tournament Battle 2020 which performed virtually on July 4 to 5, 2020.

The national tournament held by the Indonesia Taekwondo Association (PBTI) and Sport Ministry opened with festival division class and paragames from yellow belts aged 11 to black belt aged 23 and under.

In addition, the performance division classes competed from cadet, junior, senior, master under 40, master under 50 to under 60.

"We from HST send 10 athletes, thank God nine won achievements," said HST taekwondo coach from MTC club Sri Maulida Hayati to ANTARAnews, Tuesday (July 7, 2020) in Barabai.

Abrisam Al Hakim Gautama won gold in the male's pracadet invidual class, while Zahratunnisa won gold in female's cadet individual class.

Abrisam won gold again with his friends Ahmeed Zein Zeidan and Ahmad Ikhwan Aufa in the male's pracadet team group.

"It was unexpected that female cadet team played by Najwa Asyifa, Andi Nur Adzkiya Azzahra, and Zahratunnisa also won gold," said the young woman in black belt and DAN 3 KUKKIWON.

While silver won by Najwa Asyifa in female's individual cadet class, Ahmeed Zein Zeidan in male's individual pracadet, and Jela Habbatul Halwa in female's Senior individual class.

The HST athletes also won bronze on behalf of Ahmad Ikhwan Aufa in male's individual pracadet, Aditya Bagus Satria in men's individual cadet, and Chaily Nur Wahid in female's senior individual class.

"We did not expect our athletes to be able to achieve that far, even though we had only one week for training before the tournament, but before the pandemic we often practice three times a week," Sri said.

Although carried out online by sending video, she said, three jury were from the Internasional Referee (IR) of Indonesia and the national referee under the auspices of the PBTI Referees Corps.

"Taking part in this event we were independent using the money of athletes, thank God our athletes, even though from the region with very deficient sports facility, but are able to make the name of the HST in national level," she said.
