Head of the Task Force for the Acceleration of COVID-19 Handling, Doni Monardo, has praised the East Nusa Tenggara government, which claims to have developed a stamina-boosting drug to help COVID-19 patients.

"Our task force appreciates (the contribution of) all parties and the local government in East Nusa Tenggara in the effort to formulate the new drug and help with (developing) medications (for COVID-19),” Monardo said at a virtual press conference on Tuesday in Jakarta.

All drugs are required to go through clinical testing, Monardo said adding, the medication received from the governor of East Nusa Tenggara claims to boost stamina.

"We have received medications, including those from the governor of East Nusa Tenggara, (which) serve to increase stamina. This is also important to increase one's confidence and morale," he explained.

He said that hospital evaluation has showed the drug contains traditional ingredients, and the formulation is still being tried on patients to ensure it does not endanger their health. (INE)
