State-owned port operator PT Pelabuhan Indonesia III (PT Pelindo III) Regional Kalimantan is ready to support the regional development of tourism by increasing various port supporting facilities in collaboration with the local government and all related parties.


The Regional Manager of Human Resources and General of PT Pelindo III Regional Kalimantan Wahyu Eko Yulianto during a working visit at the Benoa Port of Pelindo Regional Bali Nusa Tenggara for three days until December 26, said at this time Pelindo III has made many improvements.

One of which is by improving the passenger terminal facility at the Trisakti Port Banjarmasin into a convenient terminal for passengers and visitors.

The company has also been preparing to develop the Martapura Lama Port, not only to support the business development of Pelindo or government, but also to support tourism.

"Not only in South Kalimantan, we also support the development of tourism in Central Kalimantan through various imrpovements of port facilities," he remarked.

To boost the increase in supporting, PT Pelindo III invited journalists to see first hand the development of tourism that has been carried out by the Benoa Port of Bali.

"I hope through this visit we all can learn and able to apply it in the region, so the effort to accelerate development of both business and tourism in the port to be achieved better," he pointed out.

Trisakti Banjarmasin Port has a length of 510 meter currently, with a depth of pool 7 meter. Under this condition, the port can accomodate a cruise ship with a maximum length of 150 meter.

But for a large scale ship, the port need to increase its capacity, including to dredge the channel to increase the depth of the river.

The Pelindo III Regional Bali Nusa Tenggara GM Anak Agung Gede Agung Mataram said, the actiVities at the Benoa Port were dominated by foreign tourists visiting by cruise ships with a significant number.

Every year, the Benoa Harbor is visited by large cruise ship with a capacity of 2,000 passengers. In 2019 as many as 75 ships docked at the pier, increased from 67 ship in 2018.

With the tourism visit, Pelindo III Regional Bali Nusa Tenggara has booked an income of IDR23 billion per year. It was supported by the facilities the company has prepared to provide comfort and sense of security for tourist visiting Bali.
