Tens of PT Astra Agro Lestari workers, who are members of the Tabalong District Chemical, Energy, Mining, Oil, Natural Gas and General Labor Union will hold a strike for 15 days.
The Head of the Work Unit of the Trade Union Fahruli said the strike was due to an unresolved industrial relations dispute. Both parties failed the negotiations.
"We have submitted the strike plan to the leadership of PT Astra," Fahruli explained.
The letter to the head of the Astra Agro Lestari PEP SP work unit, he added, notified the strike began on Thursday (5/9) until 19 September 2019.
PT Astra's Public Relations Iwan said, his party had received a notification letter about the plan to strike at the office of the palm oil plantation company.
Iwan said that the management of Astra is still trying to find a pattern so that there will be no strike by workers.
Head of Sabhara Unit of the Tabalong Police Iptu Sang Putu Raka said that the workers also conveyed a plan of peaceful action at the office of PT Astra and the entrance of the oil palm plantation area to the intelligence department.
