Head of Corporate Social Responsibility Program (CSR) Indocement Tarjun Factory Yanuar Arif, in Kotabaru on Tuesday said the training of making Banjar typical snack for housewives in assisted villages aiming to encourage the growth of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs ) in that area.

"Through education pillar and pillar of economic development, the company aims to provide practical knowledge and business opportunities that can improve the economy of rural communities around our operations," he said.

In particular, he added, the economic activities related to SMEs, including local crafts. "It is expected that SMEs and micro-enterprises groups in rural areas can be more independent," he said.

The activity, said Arif, is a realization of the pillars of education and economic pillars. Two of the five pillars underlying environmental development program as part of the CSR program was done in an effort to create MSME units in the field of handicrafts in the village Tarjun, Langadai, and surrounding areas.

Safnah, training instructor, explained, "Trainees equipped with the knowledge to make amplang which is a local specialty food from skill (food processing) to marketing," she said.

A participant from the village of Sungai Kupang, Rinawati, assess training is pretty good, and easy to understand. "With this craft, housewives can be more independent, and no longer works for someone else, it could make money," she said.
