Two motorcycle racing athletes from Tabalong District scored achievements in the 2019 Honda Dream Cup event in Banjarbaru. One of them is the female racer Novila Putri Kinanti. She won first place in the women's 110 matic class.
Another Tabalong rider Yanda Irawan excelled at the Honda Supra GTR Standard Open Main Dealer.
Yanda is a motorcycle athlete under the auspices of the Robi Motor Racing Team (RMRT), while Putri joins the club from Barabai City, the Putri Tunggal Racing Team (PTRT).
"Alhamdulillah, I can become a champion and hope the coaching money in the next event can be bigger," said Putri.
Tabalong RMRT Chairman Robby Yulana said the development of athletes at the club had been running a year ago.
"Our guidance is to improve the achievements of Tabalong motorcycle racing athletes, so they can compete with outside athletes," Robby said.
Currently the motorbike club he leads also fosters motor athlete Akbar.
Separately, the Chairperson of the Tabalong branch of National Sports Committee (KONI) Akhmad Helmi expressed his appreciation to the two riders who had won the achievement and made the district famous.
Helmi hopes that Putri and Yanda's achievements will motivate other athletes, not only in motorbike racing but in all existing sports. "Hopefully other athletes can follow in their footsteps in any sport," he said.
