People in Daha region, including South Daha, West Daha and North Daha, celebrated the tradition of takbiran in no less lively with other regions, using decorated kelotok boat to parade along the Nagara River.


North Daha Sub-District Head Lothvie Rahmanie, Friday (7/6), said each sub-district involved the villages in an effort to revive the old tradition, carrying out a the takbiran parade on the river in each sub-district.

Especially in North Daha sub-district,  the parade followed by 25 boats. The boats were equipped with a sound system and decorated with various ornaments.

"The number of participants who took part in North Daha was indeed many because one village had sent two ornate boats, both closed boats, half open and open," he said.

The night parade of takbiran was followed enthusiastically by the community. Even though it was not contested, and there were no prizes, but community participation remained high in order to enliven the night of takbiran to welcome Idul Fitri 1440 Hijriyah.

This activity was also a follow-up to the aspirations previously crowded on social media. There was a desire to revive the potential and tradition of the takbiran parade by cruising the river which was once popular in accordance with the potential of the country's territory with its waters.

"In line with the direction of the HSS Regent H Achmad Fikry who responded positively to the holding of the takbiran parade to be revived, and in the future it will be prepared again for implementation in the coming years," he said.

According to him, the takbiran parade by boat along the river is an almost extinct tradition due to road construction and many people turned to land transportation.
