Head of The Sanggau Regency, West Kalimantan, Transportation Agency Yohanes Kiteng has just been arrived in Banjarmasin, by driving his own car.
Sanggau is in the region of Indonesia borders. It is sub-district Entikong in Sanggau that borders with Malaysia.
“I need a 32 hours drive from Sanggau to Banjarmasin. Although there are some roads damage, bridges repaired, but traveling was smoothly, no significant interference,†he told here, Tuesday.
Yohanes coming to Banjarmasin is to attend technical coordination meeting of land transportation Borneo, led by the Director General of Land Transportation Suroyo Ali Moeso.
He traveled from Sanggau to Banjarmasin during two days and one night to spend about 300 liters of gasoline. His travel experience is a picture of success of citizen expectation that the entire Island of Kalimantan can be connected by road.
Total road construction along the Trans Borneo is 3188.10 kilometers to cross south, about 2,000 km over the road is part of MP3EI. The plan of this project will be completed as a whole in 2014.
