Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan 16/9 (AntaranewsKalsel) - Banjarbaru Resort Police Chief Adj Sr Comr (AKBP) Kelana Jaya confirmed the circulation of PCC and other hard drugs must be prevented from entering Banjarbaru so as not to cause negative impacts in this city.
"We are trying to prevent the PCC drug from entering Banjarbaru, and the incident of abuse like in Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi, does not happen here," he said here on Saturday.
He said the PCC or Paracetamol Caffein Carisoprodol is a hard drug that serves as a sedative and the effect can make a person like a madman.
He explained, according to laboratory tests conducted by the Food and Drug Administration (BPOM) it turns out PCC tablet contains carisoprodol classified as hard drugs.
"The impact of abuse is greater than the effect of therapy, let alone the evidence can be seen from many victims falling after consuming them, as in Kendari," he said again.
According to him, the effort to deter PCC circulation and abuse prevention, among others, by ordering police personnel to urge people to stay away from that type of drug.
"We have ordered personnel on the ground to be proactive to urge people to stay away from PCC, so they do not become victims of the hard drugs," he said.
It also called on all components of society to play an active role in preventing the circulation and abuse of PCC and other hard drugs.
"People should be brave to report if they know of any PCC or other hard drugs," he said.
