Rantau, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - The heavy rain that flushed Tapin District, South Kalimantan, on Monday (29/5) caused dozens of homes in Binuang Sub-district inundated by flood.
Binuang police chief First Inspector (Iptu) Fathoni said about 68 houses in the sub-district were flooded with mud mixed with a depth of 40 cm to 60 cm due to overflow of Belanti River and Serawi River.
"A total of 8 houses in Karang Putih Village inundated with a depth of 50 cm, and 60 houses in the village of North Pulau Pinang Km 91 and Km 94 with a depth of 60 cm," said police chief.
He said he had reported the situation to the Tapin Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) in order to immediately deploy assistance to the disaster site.
"Currently we still keep collecting the data, we will confirm again," said police chief.
Meanwhile, Head of BPBD Tapin H Nordin said it has received reports from teams in the location of floods in Binuang.
"The rain this afternoon was quite heavy, and we always standby, and also we have prepared the team to the disaster site," said H Nordin.
