Kotabaru, South Kalimantan 16/5 (AntaranewsKalsel) - Kotabaru Regent Sayed Jafar is committed to improving the tourism sector on Sebuku Island, about 10 km north of Pulau Laut, the capital of Kotabaru District.
Regent Sayed after reviewing the four kilometer road which is a grant of iron ore mining company PT Sebuku Iron Lateritic Ores (PT Silo), Tuesday, said there are several tourism potentials to be developed on Sebuku Island.
"Among them, Haur Island and Manti Island, because we see a much better tourist life in the future to be developed," he said.
According to him, the agribusiness and tourism sectors will be a concern for the future, but before that the supporting facilities, such as road infrastructure, would be prepared.
On that occasion, regent hopes to business actors can help accelerate development in the region.
"If you only expect the district budget it will not be enough to fix the existing road infrastructure," he explained.
Therefore, according to him, the role of the company becomes the impetus to be able to walk together in achieving development progress.
He explained that in 2017 it is still focused on the problems of road and electricity infrastructure in remote villages.
"If the road access is already open well then the other course will also follow its development," he said.
Previously, PT PLN has targeted in 2019 about 95 percent of Kotabaru region will be electrified.
