Amuntai, South Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - South Kalimantan's Agency for Placement and Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers (BP3TKI) released data that approximately 80 percent of migrant workers from this province working in Saudi Arabia set off through umrah travel agencies.
Head of South Kalimantan's BP3TKI Amin Amanullah in Amuntai on Sunday said, these conditions cause status of many migrant workers are illegal and could be deported at any time.
"In fact some are entangled in law cases, experienced maltreatment or fall in activity of human trafficking," he said.
Workers who leave illegally also led the government can not freely provide aid protection, such as to those who went through official channels.
Earlier in the dessimination, Amin reminded the case of six migrant worker from North Hulu Sungai (HSU) threatened to be beheading. He expected this would be a lesson for workers and labor brokers to be more careful.
"For people who want to work abroad is better to use official channels, complete administration and procedures required, in order to obtain the guarantee and protection during the work," said Amin.
Amin said that the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia (KBRI) in Saudi Arabia overwhelmed with workers who apply for administration document, as application of bleaching in Riyadh and Jeddah to foreign workers who do not have documents.
"Around 63 thousand migrant workers in Saudi Arabia seek to complete the population administration makes the embassy overwhelmed by the number of officers at the embassy only 100," said Amin.
Currently there are about two million migrant workers in Saudi Arabia, and every day there are up to 200 complaints from workers who entered the Embassy, so the Indonesian Embassy officials overwhelmed to serve all complaints.
