Tanjung, South Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - The soaring price of chili in Tabalong be one of the triggers of inflation, in addition to the impact of rising fuel prices, said the head of the Tabalong Central Statistics Agency Haryadi.
It was submitted by Haryadi in coordination meetings related to inflation in Tabalong with the ranks of the Government of Tabalong in Tanjung, Wednesday (10/12).
"There are 10 commodities that pushed inflation in Tabalong in addition to rising gasoline prices, they are cayenne pepper, snakehead fish, sand, and red chili," he said.
Other foodstuffs also contributes to inflation, including greens and tilapia, while commodities retaining inflation include grape, orange, gold, mackerel fish, and tuna.
The share of petrol and cayenne pepper to inflation in the district, each of 0.43 percent and 0.2 percent.
Currently, the price of chili in the local market reached Rp120 thousand to Rp 130 thousand per kilogram. These prices are higher than ever before in the range of Rp80 thousand per kilogram.
BPS data, Tabalong inflation in October rose by 0.2 percent and reached 1.26 percent in November, and predictable inflation rate in December following a rise in prices of some staples to freight rates as the impact of hiking fuel prices.
District Secretary Abdul Muttalib Sangaji ask ranks of Industry, Trade and Cooperatives Agency continues to monitor prices in various markets.
"We recognize the impact of fuel prices hike is quite extensive, not only public transport fares but also foodstuffs which caused the inflation rate in Tabalong increased compared to the previous month," said Abdul accompanied by Assistant for Economy and Development, Syaiful Ikhwan.
